I do have a concern that part of the reason we won so many games with Goff is that he did not take too many chances and took what the defense gave him.
Now, that may not win you too many playoff games or superbowls, but possibly was a big factor in winning so many regular season games. Even to some degree reigning in McVay a bit.
With Stafford we may live and die by the sword. I think, like Favre, some years he was the reason they lost... other years, he was the reason they won.
