A Foles to the Colts trade could make sense. But, I doubt the Bears give him up for less than a 2nd round pick. Why would they? But are the Colts that convinced that they are so good that if they can get through the games Wentz misses they can compete for the Superbowl? Otherwise, Foles becomes an expensive bench warmer.
There's also the complication that if Foles plays well, what do the Colts do when Wentz returns?
Then again, why the Colts would trade for the ultra-brittle Wentz and not have an experienced and competent back up behind him I don't know. But they don't have that as it stands. So..... good luck. Pretty tough decision on what to do.
I don't know much about him but Jacob Eason is the son of an NFL QB for whatever that's worth. His dad started in the SB at one point so, who knows? Being brought up by a QB to be a QB might make him viable.
Making Wentz the undisputed started was probably a tactical move by Reich, a former QB himself. For whatever reason, he thought it best to leave Wentz without any distractions. At this particular point, it looks like a mistake. But I also am not that enamored with the idea of a re-tread just to have a vet.
