If this is true then I'm a little less worried:
After an Achilles tendon tear, how likely am I to tear the other side?
About 6% of patients with an Achilles tendon tear will have the same injury in the other foot. [

This suggests that, if one ruptures an Achilles tendon on one limb, the risk of a rupture on the contralateral side is significantly higher than that of the general population described above (6.4% compared with .018%) [

My interpretation: Akers might be more than 300 times as likely to tear his other Achilles tendon than the general population is of suffering their first tear. But at 6% the odds are still in his favor. And the Rams, I assume, are aware of this and will focus on prevention.
