Player Bio
The Jacksonville native played in 12 games as a true freshman, starting once and contributing as a rusher (69-494-7.2, four TDs) and receiver (30-351-11.7, three TDs). Anderson played a running back/receiver hybrid role in 2018, as well, starting eight of 12 games (51-275-5.4, four TDs rushing; 16-230-14.4, three TDs receiving; 15-178-11.9 punt returns). He won honorable mention All-American Athletic Conference accolades in 2019 for his all-purpose game. He rushed for 726 yards and five scores on 113 carries (6.4 per), caught 31 passes for 365 yards (11.8 per) and three touchdowns, and returned 21 punts for 277 yards (13.2 per) and a score in 13 games (12 starts). Anderson focused more on running in 2020, starting five of nine games played (125-687-5.5, four TDs; 14-79-5.6 receiving; 3-23-7.7 punt returns). -- by Chad Reuter

Analysis

Overview
Anderson is a good football player, offering versatility, athleticism and playmaking characteristics, but his size is a big obstacle. He's not big enough to be counted on as a pure backup running back, which means he will need to make it as a gadget player with wide receiver potential who can return punts. He has unreliable hands and focus when working into traffic as a pass catcher but does have the smooth hips and separation acceleration to compete at the receiver position if teams ask him to make that switch.

Strengths
Provides roster flexibility due to versatility.
Distributed snaps between running back and slot receiver.
Has ability to handle gadget-guy packages.
Acceleration creates separation in route turns.
Able to challenge deep downfield when mismatched.
Plus vision between the tackles.
Processes the front and makes cuts with decisiveness.
Exciting punt return potential, averaging 12.3 yards per return for his career.

Weaknesses
Very small build to handle running back duties.
Arm tackles easily slow his momentum.
Has very little chance of breaking tackles inside.
Quick but needs to run with even more explosiveness.
Needs to work back to the ball as receiver.
Concentration drops are an issue in traffic.
Not big enough to withstand rush in pass protection.
