I also can't believe that Buffalo in the early '90s couldn't get one of the four bowls they went to.
Agreed. Me too brother. They had one of the best and most innovative offenses ever and a very good D too but seemed to choke every time. They were loaded with HOF'ers.
How many Hall of Famers were on the 90s bills?
Brought six future Hall of Famers to Buffalo (Jim Kelly, James Lofton, Andre Reed, Bruce Smith, Thurman Thomas and Head Coach Marv Levy). One of the most accomplished front office executives in NFL history, Bill Polian helped build multiple successful franchises during his 24 years as a general manager.
They seemed cursed. The kicker (Scott Norwood) that missed the game winning FG against the G-men was brutal. He remonds me of our very own Sam Sloman for some reason. lolYes Sir, that was one loaded team for the ages. They were the Patriots of that decade and a very dangerous team that was always loading back up for another Super Bowl run and it was always interesting who they were signing through those winning years in the attempt to go back to the big game.
Even non hall of famers were really valuable to their four year run like Cornelius Bennett, Steve Tasker, Don Beebe, and Darryl Talley. They were really a talent factory during that run and it left a huge impact on me since the Rams were not very good at the time.
The Norwood kick was particularly painful to me since I had a very annoying friend that was a Giants fan!
