I've been critical about the Ram's lack of investing in early round linemen but I've also maintained that Havenstein is underrated and I expect Pro Bowl caliber performance from him this year. Without him, Evans wouldn't be our RG and I've seen nothing from Evans that makes me believe he is anywhere close to Havs. He can get abused by top shelf speed rushes at times but we tend to remember the 4 sacks more than the hundreds of good pass sets. 19 was tough but he was a warrior playing through pain. In 18 he was one of the best RG's in the league. I won't argue contract though. I'd have preferred they kept Saffold though.

I don't consider him one of the best ROTs in the league, frankly. It's not just that now and then he has trouble with speed rushers--I am not even sure he is an average level pass blocker.

By now it's good to have 2 experienced tackles, but, the time is coming when they will need to start over at both spots.

When looking at who the Rams let go, clearly they like Havs
