Jourdan Rodrigue is an NFL writer that covers the Rams and pays attention to the small details.

She knows professional football.

Vincent Bonsignore was a Rams favorite but this woman has filled his void.

She is one of the major reasons I signed up for the Athletic.

She's not just a doll face. This woman is very knowledgeable of the sport.

From the Carolina Panthers to the Los Angeles Rams.

We are lucky to have her covering our team.

Jourdan is good. She knows football, writing comes naturally to her, and she has good observations.

The flaw in the mix is that she is an access reporter as a beat writer. This is just plain obvious from reading her.

We will get criticism of the regime and team from her, but never anything that goes past a certain tipping point. In exchange for that, we will also get a lot of "nameless sources on the Rams staff say X." That's the trade-off with access journalism. We learn what insiders are saying--to an extent--but there never will be real reporting where multiple sources explore an issue where the Rams do not come off so well.

That's why we need more than one voice discussing the Rams. There have to be some who stand back and tell us things the Rams don't want us to hear. Cause sometimes there will be things like that.
