Goff needed a guy who could carry him on pre-snap protection calls. Stafford does not. Stafford can carry the center and will until he's ready. Ragnow is a pro bowl center who has gone on about how Stafford kept him honest on line calls. 9 is at the top of his game on all those basics and it enables this move which in turn puts the best 5 on the field.
