Corbett was and is a fine OG but he can significantly upgrade C without Rams having to go outside or use a 2nd rounder on a rookie. That’s a win.
Evans is likely a big upgrade at RG in the running game although has a little work to do in pass pro. Another likely win.
Clearly the Ram coaches seem to think that these 2 players are among the ‘new best 5’ for 2021. I have no reason to believe that they are not correct.
As an aside, I’m expecting a helluva running game this year. Akers and Hendy should be licking their chops just thinking about those 5 guys up front.
In terms of Corbett, any center they took in the draft would be for 2022. The drawback with Corbett is being a free agent after this season.
I agree with you about Evans and the questions about pass protection but at least there are 2 guys with promise behind him and plenty of time to figure it out.
