I don't see all this magic from our QB change. Not starting Staf isn't an upgrade, but where is this magic? Why does Staf get to collaborate with our HC and Goff needed to be told what to do until just before the snap? I keep reading accolades describe this night and day difference and I try hard to get why. Staf is older and more seasoned but he's new to the system that Goff ran to a SB. And I like Staf. Not my problem. Not a hater at all. I'm not even a doubter. Loved Staf coming out. I just don't see the perceived upgrade as being massive.
IMO?
1. McV has a lot to learn as a qb coach and he wasn't going to learn it with Goff, for whatever reason. Partly because Goff was just a less experienced qb. Stafford's 5th year was actually not that different from Goff's, relatively speaking.
2. Stafford is a smart veteran--the veteran thing being key--and you have no choice but to work with him in a collaborative approach.
3. As a veteran, Stafford knows some things McV doesn't. That expands McV's range and feel for things.
