The roster remains 53 players. However, 2 practice-squad players can be added each week, effectively increasing the roster to 55 for the game. Players brought up from the practice squad to the 55-man roster can be sent back to the practice squad twice without having to clear waivers.

The game-day active roster will increase from 46 to 48 and one of the extra payers has to be an offensive lineman.
