I get speculation. I get it that the media has to fill up the air space with something. But this grading of drafts the day after they happen, declaring some selections as "steals", others as "taken too soon", etc., is just silliness as you point out. Most of the time it is the talking heads leading the way, and then fans assuming they actually know what these guys are talking about because they are..... media.

I like to listen to the former GMs less for how they evaluate a specific player.... and they are the ones that are always the most cautious about it.... and more for how they explain the complex decision making process behind the selections and why different teams can look at the same player differently and neither are wrong.
