I was joking about Deacon however you are asking a question that becomes moot a year or more after a draft. Does anybody really remember an analyst or poster saying a player was a steal at the moment they were drafted? That is really an opinion of the moment however it does not become really clearer until the player performs. It is easy to look back later and wonder how a player of that caliber fell so far but on that day it may have been the "right place". That is why redrafts are so much fun. Does anyone doubt that Aaron Donald would have gone #1 overall knowing what we know today?
So based on that, players like Ike Bruce (2nd round), Jackie Slater (3), Leonard Little (3), even Norm Van Brocklin (4) stand out as steals for the Rams. The league is littered with them. The reverse would be projected busts or dumb picks that later turned out terrific all pros or HOFers. Either is just an opinion and actually worthless and forgotten in the long run.
