Assuming the Rams are going to always be drafting in the lower 1/4 of the 1st round every year, and listening to the GMs regularly on Sirius NFL, they claim that it is the rare year that there are more than 20 guys that actually have 1st round grades. So around a dozen will be taken that have 2nd round grades (to fill out the round) and so also assuming that the first 20 picks are those players with the 1st round grades, then trading away low 1st rounders is not so ominous as it sounds.
Too give up 2 LOW 1st rounders for a generational young player that is also a good guy and a leader..... a shut down CB..... is to Les Snead a no-brainer. The issue is that these guys aren't available for trade very often.
It was a smooth move by Les and I applauded him for it and for the philosophy behind it. If for no other reason, ANY draft pick is an unknown quantity when it comes to playing in the NFL. It's all a projection. But..... a super player like Ramsey or Stafford is a known quantity with the games in the NFL to back it up. They are about as a sure a thing as there is in life..... other than death.
