DAMASCUS, Md. (7News) — From Damascus, Maryland to Los Angeles, California. Jake Funk is packing his bags for the west coast, joining the Los Angeles Rams after he was drafted last weekend in the 7th round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
The running back played five seasons at the University of Maryland, coming back from three injuries that required surgery before delivering a terrific 2020 season.
7News Sports Anchor Scott Abraham caught up with Funk on Tuesday about fulfilling a childhood dream.
"It's so worth it. I wouldn't be the man I am today if it wasn't for everything that I've been through," Funk told Abraham. "From injuries to all different kinds of adversity from position battles to everything. I wouldn't be the man I am today, not just a football player, the man."
