How do they replace AW? Finding a good lt is difficult. Like qbs most are relatively high draft picks but we don't have 1 for the next 3 years. Further Im sure there some examples of a 2nd round pick starting as a rookie lt but I can't think of one. Regardless it's a rarity. Occasionally you can pick one up in fa but they will be expensive and we don't really have the cap space to make a big splash.
This year is a unique opposite to pick up a quality lt later in the draft because of covid. There is definitely risk involved but that risk is mitigated by carberry (assuming he likes little). And yes he won't play but you need to bite that ball sooner or later to replace AW. IMO the benefit outweigh the risks. That being said I dont disagree in the fact that they could go cb or c.
