Wouldn't every team want versatile players especially at LOT and Center?
It seems to me that in today's game, a successful offense must run a multiple O.
Seattle has tried to run the old fashioned power road grader O for some time but I'm not so sure that it isn't outdated and made to look better than it was because of some fellow named Russell Wilson. Who, btw, really doesn't want to be there anymore because essentially he IS the offense and he's getting the you know what beat out of him.

Of course everyone wants versatile, superior linemen. But NOBODY invests in five of them at the level I suggest. They are just too rare and expensive. The salary cap prevents that from happening so most teams choose players that match their scheme. Even when the Cowboys had three or four Pro Bowlers on their line, injuries required more than five to sustain their level of play. Now that line has evaporated and mark my words, Dak and Zeke have seen their best days behind them because their defense is now atrocious so OL upgrades will have to be back burner material. On the other hand, the Cards have seriously upgraded their line and I expect them to be a serious threat this year. To me, however, the Colts, Browns, and Ravens have been the most recent standard bearers of what I'd like to see the Rams develop. I wish Whit was ten years younger, Allen is subpar, and Corbett has good moments but an upgrade is necessary for the next level. Ideally, he's the primary interior backup on the inside while Noteboom remains the backup LT. Ultimately, I want a beast at LG (moving Edwards to RG), a Doug Smith like presence at C, and a developmental T to push or replace Noteboom next year. The Rams may believe that they are developing depth that will become good starters but if I were Carberry, I wouldn't trust it and pound the table for excellence. While I fully understand the needs at LB, DL, and CB, I personally would develop later round picks for them and focus on this area that can define this team for the next handful of years. We have a good line...I demand greatness as an inconsequential fan.

Perhaps no one here does. But Snead/McVay sure do.

I have to believe the Rams continue OZ schemes with their type of RBs

So essentially a versatile player. But isn't that what all teams want?

  I think you're missing

Perhaps, then, the issue is being a good pass blocker first
