Depends on what the new ST thinks. Adding that Bills punter is definitely an interesting move. The issue with Hekker is not the salary per se, they can afford to keep him, its that the salary clearly did not match performance in 2020.
I would prefer to keep him this year and possibly move on in 2022 if he does not give them top 3-5 punter production. Doubtful they could get a day 2 pick from Dallas for him. But maybe a 4th? We will see....
I don't see anyone trading for a punter, no matter who it is. They would just wait until he's cut and then sign him. You can do that with a punter, who doesn't have to learn an entire offense or defense, so you can sign him last minute when he's cut.
