Last year the Rams refused to let Hekker do what is unique about him, pass the ball for a first down or touchdown. Also, this article calls for a fifth round pick, which is more realistic. However, calling Bojorquez the "top rated punter" is both misleading and ignorant. A big part of the job is placement and pinning the returners deep rather than kicking out of the end zone, which is not Bojorquez' strength. He can kick long, but not accurately.
Nevertheless, the force of this article has merit. If it comes down to money, Johnny is gone and we will all lament because he's such a great guy. If McVay won't use Hekker's strength of trick plays because he doesn't like the gamble, other players will have a greater impact on the team. And Bones' poaching his favorites is an obvious clue.
