I'm merely saying that to think that the position at which they take a CB says what their long term plans are with D. Williams is highly unlikely.
We can't equate what they did with JJ for example by taking several Safeties, because the Rams are constantly drafting Safeties with the idea that they can be had fairly easily and they simply are going to give a 2nd contract to a Safety.
Clearly the Rams have the highest priority on CBs. They let Hill walk because they didn't think he was worth the money to re-sign him, especially this year, and with D. Williams ready to take over full time for essentially the same cost. But will they let an elite CB go because it's too much money (assuming D. Williams proves himself to be that this year)? That's the question for me. And I think they'll go a long way to keep him if he keeps ascending.
