Nicecatch summed up the argument nicely. Family members are not always the same but in this case the Ford's track record has been consistently poor.
Sure, maybe, this new lady will work wonders, but I doubt that you'd put any money on it Zn. You can argue academics all you want but I doubt you really believe it. Personally, I'd like to see the Lions do good as it would bring a lot of joy to my area. But most of the Lions fans I know just laugh about hoping for a better outcome.
I doubt anybody with any football sense would envision that a green new owner and a green new GM and a new coach and a new QB are going to turn around the Lions. I could see them going 0-16 or 4-12 this year.
I think what zn is suggesting is that we give this new regime a chance. That seems reasonable and fair to me.
I’m kinda impressed with the way this new owner handled Stafford’s trade request and with the hire of Holmes.
I have faith that Holmes will turnaround that Lion FO and scouting dept. Won’t be instantaneous, but it will be both rapid and steady.
We haven’t seen any foolish offseason moves by the Lions so far, have we?
The new HC? Who knows? But I’m willing to give him a chance, at least.
As zn pointed out, Ram fans have seen amazing turnarounds before when bad ownership, GM’s, and HC’s have been replaced by good ones. Why couldn’t the Lions do the same thing?
Hiring Dan Campbell? Trading Stafford, not locking up Golladay or Jones for Goff big mistake. Letting Patricia and Quinn stick around another year. Your right the clouds could open up and shine in on the lion's and proclaim them to be a team of destiny but play the statistics on this one. By shear dumb luck by now the Lions should have won something. They have won, one playoff game since 1957. Let that sink in for a minute. We all know they are due but why should we believe anything else when they have never been able to achieve. You guys all know damn well that you aren't putting any money on the Lions turning this thing around and I guess what would that even look like. 8-8 a playoff berth, playoff win? When your as bad as the Lions it doesn't take much and yet the still disappoint. To put this in perspective
You would have a better chance at seeing snow in the sahara desert than seeing a Lions playoff victory since 1958.
Last question here sorry what are the lions building off here also? Goff? Draft picks how has that worked out for them?
