There's a reason the Lions got Stafford with the #1 pick without trading up.
On his play, he can fit the ball into tight spaces and isn't afraid to try. That may be because, as you said, he was playing from behind much of the time and that was required. I think Goff was beginning to get gun shy....being told to limit the turnovers, he was less likely to try and squeeze the ball into tight windows, so he often took the check down. Especially when the team was tied or winning. I don't expect Stafford to change but on a successful team, he won't need to squeeze things as often as he did in Detroit. I hope that doesn't disappoint many fans.
