The OP’s larger point is that elite players are specialists.
No I got that point.
And it defies NFL history.
You’re not grasping my point, zn.
Let’s take Whitworth in his prime as an example.
Sure, he could play either OG or the RT position and play them well. Hell, he could probably be a decent Center, too.
But he’s an elite LOT and that’s his specialty. Only an idiot OL coach would even consider playing him at any other position barring an extreme emergency.
Elite players are by definition specialists.
