There may be something to that, but Kromer was very adaptable. He never ran a ZBS before the Rams. That was highlighted in Chicago, where he was not only the OL coach (basically) but also the offensive coordinator. And there were several games with the Rams where we saw the OL run gap plays and also use duo--that was most likely Kromer devising things. Frankly I think virtually the entire 2020 game plan against the Patz was Kromer.

The point is, there is not any reason to believe Kromer would NOT be able to or willing to adapt the rushing attack to a different blocking scheme.

So whatever the reason for his departure is, I doubt it was because he did not want to adapt.
