But he looks small to me. Limited. I'm sure he will increase our run defense outside the tackles but not sure he can rack and stack and fill aggressively in the middle.
If it was me there are some ILBs I really like and would try to take one. If Davis is there at 57 I would take him. But I know the Rams won't prioritize the position, though there is a chance our new DC values them and sees the enormity of the upgrade a guy like Davis would give us over what we have. When the floor on your low end starters is low enough it can be a larger net upgrade for a unit to draft that position even though other positions are more historically prioritized.
To clarify what I'm talking about OLB is a great example. Certainly the Rams want that blindside more and rightly so. Chances are they are looking at guys who offer impact at that position at 57. But IMO Davis might present more of a unit upgrade all things considered. He's great vs the run and has upside for the rest to include maybe moving around and doing a little blitzing. The guy just pops, to me at least.
