Perhaps this has helped me to coalesce my thought about the Stafford acquisition (which is how I see it more than a Goff dump).
Yes it's true. Because of Goff's inconsistency, and because of his limited ability to throw except on boots or from an unmuddled pocket, it allowed D's to concentrate on those 2 flaws.
Stafford means that the Rams indeed won't be "outclassed" at QB. They have a guy that belongs in the top 5 and all can argue exactly where, but that's the tier of currently playing NFL QBs that he belongs in. He can throw from a muddled pocket. He doesn't have to roll out that helps him see the field..... but really only half of it. Stafford can throw from multiple arm angles and without his feet set.
Of course it's up to McVay to feed the beast. But I imagine he will. He has one heck of a WR corp.
