Agree
He's not bad
He has gotten the job done
Getting another contract just doesn't seem to be in the cards for him here.
Deadpool made a pretty good case for how early they would prioritize taking an OL, let alone center.
Certainly, the club seemed to have taken a different angle on OL since the disaster of Robinson.
Granted Hav, Saffold were 2nd rounders. Both successes
Some of these guys show promise over the years. Some not so much. Barret Jones, Donnal, etc.
If planning to start and go to the Super Bowl with a rookie Center; better have the perfect pick in your poker hand.
The Rams OL as of right now consists of 3 guys originally taken in the 2nd round--Whit, Corbett, Hav.
Edwards fell because he played hurt his draft year. Before that season, before he ended up hurt and so playing hurt, he was being spoken of as a possible 1st or 2nd rounder.
In terms of drafting, I think anything before 2017 does not count. No team drafts OL without input from their OL coach on who to pick, and Boudreau, Loney, and Hanifan were all notoriously bad at it. Kromer is better at it than any of those 3 were. So guys like Donnal and Jones? That's Boudreau--who across his entire career was better at coaching up veteran outcasts than he ever was at finding rookie linemen.
So this could go the right way--it's set up to do that.
