Great Mock as usual. Thank you!

I was wondering about your thoughts on WR Tylan Wallace and linebacker Jabril Cox?

These guys really intrigue me!

I could talk about Jabril Cox for days. As a NDSU Bison fan, I've seen him play alot in person. From the very first game his freshman year, you could tell he was special. He played OLB in an overhang position. He could rush the passer, the could cover WRs, TEs and RBs. On a multiple championship Bison team, that had the best defense in the country, he was the best player and it wasn't close. I think you could play him on the edge to rush the QB, he csn drop into zone or man coverage against TEs and RBs with no issues. And at LSU, they played him inside in their 34 and he was still their most productive LBer.

In a Rams D I think he is a Inside/outside jackknife that solves alot of issues. I think he is 2nd round LBer.

Tylan Wallace 5'-11" 193 lbs. Built well. Can play inside and out IMO. I wonder about his deep speed a bit, but he looked great at the Senior Bowl. He is an advanced route runner with good hands and a nice feel for the position. I think he is a day 2 guy, most likely 3rd round.

Thanks for your summary on these guys for me.

I already liked Jabril a lot before reading your response, but now I'm even more sold. With the Tampa 2 aspect that we will incorporate into the D this year, it makes sense to draft him (imo).

How do you compare him to Isaiah Simmons? Your summary above sounds exactly like Simmons draft profile from a year ago.

Tylan might have the speed we are looking for (4.45) I think his QB did him no favors a lot of the time because it seems like he kept under throwing passes to him that he had to slow down for and have to make a contested catch. He seems to be good at 50/50 balls and that's a plus.

There are a lot of good WRs in this draft that are similar but it's at least worth keeping an eye out for Tylan Wallace.

Cox and Simmons are similar in size and speed. Simmons is faster. Cox is stronger at the point of attack. Simmons played a ton of safety as well. He was strictly a LB at NDSU and LSU. THe big concern with Simmons was where do you put him?

Here was Simmons snap count by position in his final year at Clemson:

During the regular season, Simmons played five different positions, according to Jordan Reid of The Draft Network. He spent 253 of 635 eligible snaps (40 percent) as a slot cornerback. He also spent 166 snaps at safety (26.1 percent), 132 snaps at outside linebacker (20.1 percent), 72 snaps at inside linebacker (11.3 percent) and 12 snaps as a boundary cornerback (1.9 percent).

Only 32% of his snaps were at LBer and he had 66% of his were in the slot and at safety.

Cox is a LBer, Simmons is an oversized safety. Both can run, hit and cover.
))))

Very nice breakdown of the differences in the two players.

Simmons certainly proved he could play all over the field. The snap counts do show that he was more of a CB/S than a LB. I thought he would have had more of an impact for Arizona as he is such a swiss army knife of skill, and so intriguing as a versatile player.

I like knowing that Cox can do many things but it's mainly at the LB position.
