Perhaps Stafford will be able to find success on more deep throws with our current WR’s, which means resources could be invested elsewhere.
Stafford is unafraid to throw deep into contested catch situations which puts tremendous stress on secondaries, something that Goff pretty much stopped doing 2 years ago.
The ‘new’ Rams O under Stafford should improve the TOP battle even more, helping DC Morris even more and giving the D more rest.
I hope you are right about everything in your post. But, suggesting that more deep balls will improve on the Time of Possession for the Rams is really contradictory. Teams that throw the ball deep often generally lose that battle because if the deep passes are completed, you score faster. If they aren't, you are generally in a deeper down and distance situation which means another pass. Running the ball eats the clock.
I do think they'll take more deep shots with Stafford at the helm. I also think the defense is likely to be on the field more this next season as opposed to last. Personally, I don't care so much about TOP as I do about the W.
