So as the soapbox has been pulled up I'll have a little shout out too!!
Personally I'm not into comparing Goff and Stafford either. Goff wasn't working for McVay, hopefully Stafford does.......... and I hope Goff does well in Detroit.
And while agree with you that it could have been a trade of Goff and a trade for a new QB, it was convenient the fact that both worked Detroit.
However, I think Goff was actually part of the value in the Rams offering, not as an minus that we had to unload more capital to get rid off. I posted about this before on another thread, but if you compare to the best other offer of Carolina's, it appears Goff was value all on his own.
Carolina's 1st (7th overall) = Rams 2022, 2023 1st's, 2021 3rd, or maybe not according to some draft value boards
The fact Carolina were also including Bridgewater and somewhere between a 5th and another 1st (according to Schreger) then The Rams added Goff to sweeten the deal.
