Bad things happen to good QB’s on bad teams
In Steve Young's two seasons with Tampa Bay, 1985 & 1986, going 3–16 with him as a starter. Young threw for only 11 touchdowns with 21 interceptions while completing fewer than 55% of his passes. Before turning his NFL QB career around with the 49ers.
In Jim Plunkett's seven seasons with New England and San Francisco, 1971 to 1977, going 34–53 with him as a starter. Plunkett threw for 84 touchdowns with 117 interceptions while completing 48% of his passes. Before turning his NFL QB career around with the Raiders.
These are two examples of a talented QB going from a bad situation to a good situation, culminating in Super Bowl wins.
