'Disrepesctful" 'mean' 'snickering' - Seems like there's a lot being read into all this.
How has Bellicheck handled his players not named Brady - even the star players?. My way or the highway. He will trade or cut anyone - any time he wants. No questions asked. So what if he's stoic on camera - is that more respectful?
You are acting like someone said coaches should never call players out.
No one said that. This has nothing to do with that. Calling out players during the season when it's warranted happens all the time.
This thing here is about how you treat a player at the end of the season when massive change is in the air.
You don't snicker at the question, is he your qb, and play games with the question. All while the player is clueless that it's over and that you're moving him. Doing that shows disrespect for all his years with you.
And whether you liked Goff as the Rams qb or not, he was always a solid citizen, represented the team well, got involved in the right things (like he did during the fires), and so on.
I know Snead wasn't snickering at Goff, he was snickering at reporters for asking a question he knew was coming and that he couldn't answer. It was like Demoff making fun of people for being invested in what the new uniform would be. It was just the wrong attitude to show in the situation.
And then what happens in discussion is, all this off-the-track stuff about whether or not a team can call a player out, which has nothing to do with this. That's a completely different and separate thing.
