I don't think the end result was going to change either way (i.e. McVay was probably done with him at that point regardless) but I do not doubt that they were upset. They run one of the tightest ships around. That had to get under their skin big time.
And now they can't really talk about how bad he played which is the reason behind all this because they don't want to hurt his trade value. They're just lucky the LA press are patsies in their press conferences.
