The Los Angeles Rams have questions surrounding the quarterback position this offseason. Both general manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay remain uncommitted to quarterback Jared Goff. When it comes to the Matthew Stafford and DeShaun Watson sweepstakes, the Rams have been brought up in conversations. Now, Aaron Rodgers’ future seems uncertain in Green Bay.

Rodgers discussed his uncertain future after losing the NFC Title game on Sunday. The Packers quarterback said, “A lot of guys futures that are, you know, uncertain, myself included,” Rodgers said. “That’s what’s sad about it most. . . . Just the uncertainties is tough and the finality of it all.” Now, media outlets ESPN and even NFL Network have both put out feeler scenarios of Aaron Rodgers going to the Los Angeles Rams this off-season.

Said ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Get Up, “If Aaron Rodgers decides he wants to go to LA and take the Rams to the Super Bowl…he can do whatever he wants to do.”

The price for a quarterback like Rodgers even at 37 years old would be astronomical, and that’s if the Packers decide that they even want to move on from him. It was just last year that the team drafted quarterback Jordan Love out of Utah State with the future in mind instead of a wide receiver for the current quarterback.

To be fair, Rodgers joined the Pat McAfee Show, “I don’t think that there’s any reason why I wouldn’t be back but there’s not many absolutes in this business.”

Speculating a potential move however, Los Angeles would be an optimal destination for Rodgers. Head coach Sean McVay has a similar scheme to that of Matt LaFleur which would make a transition easy. Additionally, Los Angeles has warm weather and the Packers quarterback lives a mere 20 minutes from the stadium. Like the Packers, the Rams are a championship caliber team, but went to the Super Bowl two years ago. Depth wise, the Rams arguably have better weapons that those in Green Bay outside of Davante Adams. A quarterback of Rodgers’ caliber would almost certainly put the Rams in the Super Bowl next season.

The question then be what it would take for a trade to even happen which is complicated. The Rams would most certainly have to dump Goff and find a trade partner for the fifth year quarterback. It’s highly unlikely that partner would be the Packers because, as mentioned before, they have Jordan Love in the waiting. Whatever capital that the Rams could get for Goff would then be sent to Green Bay for a package that would include next year’s first-round pick and most likely more.

It’s going to be a fun offseason with a lot of rumors. Aaron Rodgers to the Rams is only the beginning.
