Going to 12 from our 11 heavy sets of yesteryear is a trade of a wideout for Everett. Which hurts us in the passing game. But when we went with 11 it's not like Reynolds was all that great either.
This boils down to one truth: we need a 3rd receiving weapon.
Given that Hopkins was supposedly advanced in the passing game why didn't they just line him up as a slot on occasion when they want to flood a side and play some pitch and catch or even just a jet sweep from the slot. It just makes me wonder if he's not going to be a real threat in the passing game if that makes sense. Because had he showed them some threat in practice in the pattern I would think they'd find a way to get him out there for at least some basic stuff.
