Then why are his offensive assistants getting HCing gigs and OC interviews and such year after year after year?
Maybe it isn't McVay after all, maybe its the offensive line that's holding the offense back...
Or maybe, just maybe its...nah. It can't be.
So you think someone has said McVay does a
poor job with the offense?
Your new role as a board taunter does not suit you btw...you're better than that. Anyway. As for the real logic here, McVay was a coach for Jay Gruden in Washington. Gruden had one winning season in Washington. Yet McVay got hired. It's similar to when the Rams hired Mike Martz in 99 even though Turner, Martz's HC in Washington, had only 1 winning season in 6 years at that point.
So all other considerations aside, the record or ability of the head coach is just not always a consideration in hiring. Same with McVay hiring Morris. How many winning seasons has Morris been associated with as either a DC or HC? Same with Staley. Fangio has had 1 winning season as either a DC or HC in the last 6 years.
I think what you find when you read the people who don't put it all on Goff is that they don't put
it all on anyone. They recognize, instead, that it's a combination of issues, far from being the qb alone, and those issues include the OL (absolutely), which is not consistent, and the HC, who has things he can improve on.
But absolutely no one I have read has ever said it's all McVay and he's doing a poor job. McVay is 10-6 and made the playoffs. Same with the OL. Same with the qb. They can improve the offense. Reasonable people can disagree as to what the problems are with the offense.
