I don't think they have "wasted" or "tinkered"
There is a salary cap that has been an issue, but they have gone after players harder than almost any other team.
Be it Ramsey, Whit, cutting Gurley and Cook, constantly restocking, trying to upgrade the defense with a new system and coach.
To me, they have been trying hard to win it all, and it just has not happened.
I do agree that I would love to win one before AD is gone
There’s ‘trying’ and then there’s ‘doing’, slapper. All 32 teams are ‘trying’. I’m reminded of that famous Sean Connery line to Nickolas Cage in the movie The Rock about the difference between ‘trying’ and ‘doing’. Lol.
Rams have made a lot of good moves, some quite bold. But there have been others that have been awful. No point in listing them again.
Bottom line is that it always comes down to results. AD is closer to retirement than to his rookie year. When he’s gone it will be even more difficult to win it all than it is today. Unimaginably more difficult, IMO. We simply can’t afford to waste any more of this guy’s prime years.
