It is such an important position. I am on pins and needles waiting to see if Wolford is an upgrade. I think there were strong signs in the Cardinals game that he is.
But back to Donald and Goff for Watson. To take a random scale of measure, if our DL declines by 5 points in losing Donald, and our QB play goes up by 2 points in taking Watson, maybe it's a wash, given the relative importance of QB vs DT?
So maybe the key factor to consider is: just how good is Greg Gaines? If he is as good as he looked in the Seahawks game, then maybe DL play only declines 4 1/2 points, pushing the scales of balance to approve the trade?
