I know you cannot compare with NFL but I loved Spurrier as Gators Coach.

He was often accused of show boating or running up scores in some games. He OFTEN, during blow outs, would let the second AND third QBs play. And often, let them actually play and not just hand off to kill time. For some of these guys, it would be their ONLY and maybe last time to shine . But Spurrier looked at it as time to evaluate and gain player experience. I have always said that if an NFL team has a 17 + point lead and has the ball with under 3 minutes, WHY NOT? At the PRO level, I have always found it inexcusable for a team to be almost TOTALLY shut down after any injury.

  I think teams run up the score too often and yes backups should play
