Wolford is a scrappy gamer. imo....and will bring it every play even after he makes mistakes.
His -twitch mobility & escapability will be the biggest difference with Goff. imo
Wolford can make plays out of the pocket and is more decisive - quicker than Goff. imo
I'm curios to see if Wolford thrives with a McVay game plan that uses Wolford's athleticism....as Wolford far exceeds Goff's movement skills but is not the pure pocket passer that Goff is. We'll see how it works out but I think Wolford might have a solid game. Wolford's a gamer and makes good things happen...he just needs to play within himself and not panic pass when scrambling.
As I said, Wolford could be a Mullins-type QB for us going forward winning a few games in relief. I was a fan since I saw him in the AAF.
He's got good tools and a quik release , above-avg arm, and great mobility when the play breaks down.
Wolford is scrappy!
Where do you get that he has an above average arm? He strikes me as being Keenum/slash/Jamie Martin.
I worry a bit about a qb when all the coaches say he has moxie and works hard and so on and no one once says "and he can make all the throws."
Keenum was scrappy and mobile and dedicated with a good personality too.
Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of what you say there. But there's a reason arm issues limit qbs to permanent "#2 caliber" status.
