here's what he said:
He is good, but no one knows how he will do at the NFL level yet because he has not been in the lineup. What I can tell you about his career at SMU is that he exceeded expectations and he is a really good dude, so he could exceed expectations in the NFL as well. At SMU, he did everything that was asked of him. He was not the biggest or the fastest, but he produced big time. He is tough and stronger than his size might indicate. He is also a smart player. I would think the questions about him for this weekend are as follows. Is he big enough and quick enough to be effective? Has he had enough reps to be truly familiar with the offense and the game plan? He will definitely give everything he's got, and he won't quit. With Henderson out and Akers very questionable, it looks like Jones will see the field. More description to follow...
Jones is not as quick as Akers, but definitely quicker than Brown. Jones is more powerful than Akers, but not quite as powerful as Brown and Henderson. Jones is definitely quicker and faster than Brown. In terms of athletic abilities, I would definitely take Jones over Brown, but Brown has the experience and probably better short yardage ability. Given that Goff and your top WR are out, the ground game could be more important, so I would expect Brown to be the primary back with Jones seeing a significant number of plays.
Jones does have quickness and shiftiness, but not quite as much as Akers. His speed is about equal to Henderson, but Henderson does have more power. Keep in mind I saw plenty of Henderson since SMU and Memphis are in the same conference.
