But ultimately that INT (easily the worst throw by Goff since 2016) was just a dagger. Turned a sure 9-3 halftime lead into 6-6 and I think the writing was on the wall..
I liked your post as always but I don't agree with that bit. First the game was not over at that point. I think the far worse play when it comes to that was the 4th and 1 on the goal line.
Second I don’t care about one INT, no matter how ugly or embarrassing it was. Warner threw 3 INTs in the 99 championship game against Tampa. It’s not negligible and it’s obviously not desirable, but you can throw one INT–no matter how embarrassing it looks to frustrated fans–and still win.
What you CANNOT do is win with an OL that gives up 24 pressures at a 55.8% rate, which is massive and has never happened before to the McVay Rams. And it does not matter who the qb is if you give up a pressure rate like that and it makes no difference if they did not throw an INT that game.
To me the pressure issue far outweighs any other issue on offense. If the OL is not fixed the offense will not be right until it is fixed. And if it is not fixed it will not matter who the qb is.
