Re: McVay's MO? Perhaps he is window dressing

Perhaps he sees holes in his offense and he is trying to get exposed. Our OL is the key culprit. I am not wrong with I assert that we have a gimmicky run game and blocking scheme. We engage our WRs in blocking near and around the LOS more than any team I have ever seen. I understand the physicality of blocking as much as top level basket ball defense for an offensive scorer. The physicality becomes focus and for our receivers, I believe they fail to catch some because of the beating they are enduring game in and game out just so we can look like we are a tough run blocking team.

I am noticing a lack of sufficient dept in their route running often short of the line to get. I am seeing them more focused on defenders than catching the balls and I am seeing some deep balls where the WR is not even aware or acting like he is going to be a downfield blocker and not the intended WR.

Jared has had his struggles but everyone focuses on him as if he is failing at doing something while everyone else is busting their butt and executing.

I see far more times when the effort or the design of the play is just not enough and I see defenses emboldened to cut off our primary and predictable plays. What ever the reason is I know this offense is not being run like it has in the past where Jared has flourished. I believe that some of our issues are in McVay's control and it has a lot to do with the gameplan. I see some intentionality to force plays that McVay likes regardless of the defense and regardless of Goff's comfort level with the onfield performance of his peers or what he is seeing.

I know some have been harping on Goff's performances when plays go bad but I know what he looks like when he is wheeling and dealing and his comfort and confidence level. Sometimes it is a roll-out that while it cuts the field in half also assist the WR to position themselves to get up field on that side.

Other times its a nullified big play or penalty putting us in a 3rd and long and He finds the open guy some times just getting the 1st down or even more. This is a team sport and I am not sure offensively the communication is on the level it needs to be. I believe Goff has to assert himself more and inusre there is better communication so that he can be more confident in what his receivers and blockers are doing. That is where I want to see more growth. I also want to see him calling time outs and goign to sideline to consult the HC or advise him of what he is seeing but McVay controls everything so it is up to McVay to fix it.
