That play involves so many players to execute the play that, you are basically "COMMITTED" to that play call once you break the huddle. OLINE has to fake block, then release. WR's and RB's have to also commit to selling the run, then going out to block as well. It's a tough play to execute, but a thing of beauty when it all works!
I only get "upset" about play calling when it also involves "time management". Passing the ball when the other team has no time outs and the clock is winding down at the end of a game drives me nuts. Like the Falcons debacle in the SB!
I just think that with the standard McVay WR screens, defenses have them figured out. But that's just a minor annoyance.
My issue with playcalling is something completely different.
It's when the offense struggles against a defensive scheme they didn't expect and yet McV seems to want to keep banging away.
