Especially in the secondary. Seeing lots of young players back there come into their own. I think Ramsey deserves a lot of praise for that. Not just leadership and swag wise, but his ability to shut down an entire area of the field is a great luxury.
Like Greg Jennings said in the AZ game, non-Ramsey and Donald players know they are going to be targeted and get their opportunity to shine, and they've been taking advantage so far. (knocks on wood).
Let's get another defensive TD against the Jets and extend that streak!!
McVay and his crew seem to be really good at player development.
GW under Fisher was good at developing players on defense but McVay's coaches seem to surpass that.
But here's how we know that player development is the key. The talent acquisition has been a constant. Prior to McVay, the majority of the players they acquired on defense, contributed. The draft picks usually became something.
Conversely, all the players drafted on offense seemed to be busts. The difference was stark.
I think it comes down to coaches understanding what type of players they need for their scheme and player development.
