I had to work that night, so I only watched the first half ... I didn't watch the rest because we were simply clubbing them like a baby seal and I'd rather catch up on college kids ...
So I'll keep it relatively short.
The Great1) 200 scrimmage yards from a RB. This makes everyone else's life on offense easier. And it makes me likely to win in my fantasy leagues ...
2) Holding the Patriots to their worst offensive outing under Belichick.
The Good3) Both our ILBs are playing really well. An undrafted kid from a D2 school and a 5th round cast off ... that's saying something about coaching and scheme.
4) Suffocating the life out of a team when we can. Burying a team that deserves to be buried is an attitude, and our defense has that swagger now.
5) Looking at the rest of the league and feeling like we can beat anyone. That's a good feeling.
6) Offensive line holding their own after losing their leader ...
7) Stopping the 4th and goal ... it was an ugly play to begin with but it was satisfying to watch them blow it up.
8) Nick Scott ... bottom of our depth chart coming in and playing hair on fire.
The Bad9) We have no real outside pass rush. Oddly this works against mobile QBs because it locks them in the pocket ... but it's not really a good thing going into the playoffs against Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees.
10) I love the Cam Akers game, but I'd prefer if we hadn't fed him at the end when he'd just be running into a wall. I'd rather keep those carries off him.
College11) Hoping that Northwestern can hold their own for a half against Ohio State so I can get another good look at them.
12) The LSU/Gator game is one of those games that could get a coach fired. How do you sit Pitts? Rest him, fine, but have him on the gameday roster for goodness sake. On the other hand I'm glad as it likely saved Orgeron's job (even though he should get a pass given the talent they lost, anyway).
13) There are some notable FG kickers ... which is nice, we haven't had a league wide upgrade there in a while.
14) Championship weekend looks to be really good next Saturday ... Besides what is already mentioned ...
OU Iowa State
Notre Dame Clemson (with Trevor Lawrence)
Bama Florida ...
Tulsa Cincinnati (Watch Zaven Collins) (I'd put these teams against USC and Washington and expect them to win, this conference has a ton of talent)
Coastal Carollina Ragin Cajuns (these teams have more talent than the Sun Belt has shown before) (Note, the Ragin Cajuns are the only team to beat Iowa State thus far)
USC Washington and UAB Marshall are Friday night.
15) Speedy WRs. I want one late. There's a couple kids on smaller schools Im looking at. But if you have any names I'd be stoked to hear them.
Questions and comments welcome ...
