Tonight’s game will be very interesting.
I can see the Rams winning this game by sticking to the run and not turning the ball over, and letting the defense shine. Goff will manage the game, do nothing spectacular except win, and the skeptics and detractors will still have negative things to say about him. That’s the story on Jared Goff.
I could be totally wrong, I’ve been wrong just as much as the next guy, but that makes sense to me.
But that implies that Goff's detractors are saying negative things that are unfounded. I don't think that's the case with most of the stuff I've read. Obviously, some people go overboard but for the most part, Goff gets the criticism he deserves.
Sure but what Max is saying is it doesn't matter how good he plays, his critics, his detractors won't give him credit because 'that's what he's supposed to be doing'. It was that way after the Seattle game. It was that way after the Tampa game. That Miami game was the real Jared Goff. It was that way after the Arizona game. The SF game was the real Jared Goff. And it'll be that way, no matter how good he plays or how long he plays good. There is definitely a belief McVay should get the credit when Goff plays good and when the Rams lose, it's Goff's fault.
