Well you could argue the Rams need to stop sitting on leads but somebody pointed out an incredible stat where the Rams win like 90+ percent of the time when leading in the 4th quarter.
I hate sitting on leads in football and think it will bite the Rams but that stat whoever provided it was impressive so maybe there is an exception here with a great defense to compliment.
In basketball, however, I see it differently:
I was part of a coaching staff where I have the opposite philosophy to really take the air out of the ball once leading as we won like 65 games in a row when leading at any point in the 4th quarter. In those wins, we were loaded with smart players, that took care of the ball, took good shots, and made free throws. No shot clock of course.
Football is different
I just think in football, you give up the ball after 2 runs, a pass, and a punt and actually think it doesn't work well. Typically the momentum of the game changes and teams always can move the ball late in the game when the defense tires and they start being more aggressive. The Rams can get away with it this year because of the great defense I guess, but it could be an issue.
Maybe the issue isn't sitting on the lead, but is redzone offense or turnovers, but this offense moves the ball and that in the long run gives you opportunities to win which is what the Rams do.
