One the reasons the Rams offense may have digressed is that Matt Lafleur left to become the OC of the Titans. Why would he leave the Rams for a lateral move.
Maybe McVay should of been more of a head coach and less of an OC.
It's just a match-up thing. SF isn't beating anyone else. The Rams match up with Seattle and have their number, SF matches up with the Rams and have their number.
