Goff, like Dave O'Brien from the Jets in the 1989s, is a thrower, and a great one. Give Goff the flyer, the possession guy and a good running game and good protection--and the Rams, with McVay, will be a playoff type of team. (Some one like Mark Sanchez, by the way, couldn't accomplish much with all that Goff has).
Add in a great D, and they go to the superbowl...yep, without the long passing games, Rams can't win consistently...Kupp and Woods 8 yards off the line on 75% of their patterns is high school ball.
I'm not sure I think goff has a ton of weapons and the ideal situation to succeed. Yes we are lacking a speedster but feel we could have addressed that in the draft and we passed for a similar style of possession receiver in jefferson. I feel any qb in the nfl would be salivating to be in Goff's situation right now. Not to say any qb could succeed but even mark sanchez got to two straight afc championships. Also goff's playoff performances have been very shaky and it worries me as the new orleans game was very gutsy but not without some very big kicks by Greg, int by johnson and the big non pi call.
